Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant for Medical Centre Pharmacy in Brooklin, Ontario. Compensation is contingent on experience and will be determined during hiring.

The role involves packaging, prescription processing, dispensing support, inventory control, POS/billing, and high attention to detail while delivering excellent patient service. Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software (Fillware, Kroll).
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Filling and sealing multi-dose blister packs accurately.
• Entering patient, insurance, and doctor data into pharmacy software.
• Counting pills, measuring liquids, and labeling under pharmacist supervision.
• Checking stock, ordering supplies, and removing expired products.
• Operating cash registers and processing third-party insurance claims.
• Double-checking work to ensure zero medication errors.
• Maintaining accuracy during repetitive packaging tasks.
• Assisting patients warmly and professionally in person and by phone.
• Multitasking efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Working with pharmacists and technicians to meet deadlines.

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on candidate experience.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Blister Packs & Compliance Packaging: Filling and sealing multi-dose blister packs accurately.
• Prescription Processing: Entering patient, insurance, and doctor data into pharmacy software.
• Dispensing Support: Counting pills, measuring liquids, and labeling under pharmacist supervision.
• Inventory Control: Checking stock, ordering supplies, and removing expired products.

• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
