Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy looks for a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join Medlandia Compounding Pharmacy in Maple Ridge, BC. Compensation is a starting point and based on experience. You will support pharmacists, greet customers, enter prescriptions, and help with inventory and clerical tasks.

The role emphasizes patient-focused care and teamwork, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed. Prior pharmacy experience is an asset; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program preferred.
• On-the-job training available for candidates with pharmacy experience.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and technicians in providing high-quality patient care.
• Greet customers and answer phone calls professionally.
• Enter, label and package prescriptions under supervision.
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to protocols.
• Receive and stock medication and supplies; monitor inventory levels.
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and dispose of hazardous waste per regulations.
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims.
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and other duties as assigned.

Job description

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Medlandia Compounding Pharmacy in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on candidate experience.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset (on-the-job training will be provided)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Kroll pharmacy software
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
