Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join Plaster Rock Pharmacy in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick. You will support pharmacists and technicians, greet customers, and help with prescriptions under supervision.

The role offers 1–2 shifts weekly; store hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 AM–6:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. Completion of a pharmacy assistant program or equivalent, strong communication, and the ability to stand and lift are preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Previous pharmacy experience an asset; on-the-job training provided.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software (training will be provided).
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care.
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner.
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician.
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols.
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments; monitor inventory levels and rotate stock.
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safe disposal of expired medications and hazardous waste.
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers.
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned.
