Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join Market Mall Pharmacy in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. You will support pharmacists and technicians in delivering high-quality patient care and handle daily pharmacy operations.

You will greet customers, answer calls, assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions, and help with inventory and clerical tasks. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy assistant program completion preferred.
• On-the-job training provided if no prior experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to thrive in a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Kroll pharmacy software.
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and technicians in providing high-quality patient care.

• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers.
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care

• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols

• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
