Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join Market Mall Pharmacy. This position offers meaningful patient care support in a busy community setting.

You will assist pharmacists and technicians, greet customers, enter and label prescriptions, manage inventory, and help with daily operations. Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• On-the-job training will be provided.

Job description

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Market Mall Pharmacy in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset (on-the-job training will be provided)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Kroll pharmacy software
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
