Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Pharmasave #203 in Burnaby, British Columbia. You will support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care, greet customers, and assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under supervision.

This role requires excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy assistant program preferred.
• Experience in pharmacy is an asset; on-the-job training provided.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team oriented.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Kroll pharmacy software.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
