Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join Family Pharmacy on 46th in Lloydminster, Alberta. You will support pharmacists and technicians, greet customers, enter and label prescriptions, and help with daily operations.

The role requires good communication, strong organization, and basic computer skills. On-the-job training is provided, with flexible hours Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm, and competitive wages.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program preferred.
• Experience in a pharmacy is an asset; on-the-job training provided.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and technicians in patient care.
• Greet customers and handle phone calls professionally.
• Enter, label, and package prescriptions under supervision.
• Count, measure, and package medications per protocol.
• Receive and stock medications; monitor inventory.
• Maintain clean, organized pharmacy area; dispose of waste per regs.
• Perform clerical tasks and assist with insurance transfers.
• Support daily pharmacy operations.

Job description

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Family Pharmacy on 46th in Lloydminster, Alberta.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset (on-the-job training will be provided)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Kroll pharmacy software
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours Monday-Friday from 9:00am-6:00pm
