Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant for our Durham Pharmacy in Port Perry, Ontario. You will support pharmacists and technicians, greet customers, and help with prescriptions, labeling, and inventory management.

The ideal candidate will have pharmacy assistant training, strong communication, and organizational skills, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed. Compensation is starting point and based on experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy is an asset (on-the-job training will be provided).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care.
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner.
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician.
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols.
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits.
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations.
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers.
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities
