Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking Part-Time Pharmacy Assistants to join our team at Rx Drug Mart in Wingham, Ontario.

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on candidate experience. The role focuses on patient-centered care with responsibilities across blister packs, prescription processing, dispensing support, inventory management, and front-end POS duties in a busy community pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset (on-the-job training will be provided).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software (training will be provided).
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Blister Packs & Compliance Packaging: Filling and sealing multi-dose blister packs accurately.
• Prescription Processing: Entering patient, insurance, and doctor data into pharmacy software.
• Dispensing Support: Counting pills, measuring liquids, and labeling under pharmacist supervision.
• Inventory Control: Checking stock, ordering supplies, and removing expired products.
• POS & Billing: Operating cash registers and processing third-party insurance claims
• Attention to Detail: Double-checking work to ensure zero medication errors
• Focus & Concentration: Maintaining accuracy during repetitive packaging tasks.
• Customer Service: Assisting patients warmly and professionally in person and by phone.
• Time Management: Multitasking efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Teamwork: Working seamlessly with pharmacists and technicians to meet deadlines.
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Schedule:

There are two shifts available:

• Shift 1: Monday-Friday 10:00 AM-3:00 PM
• Shift 2: Monday 3:00 PM–8:00 PM, Thursday & Friday 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
