Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join Durham Pharmacy in Port Perry, Ontario. The role focuses on supporting pharmacists, greeting customers, and handling prescription entry and packaging under supervision.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset (on-the-job training provided).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, team player attitude.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Kroll pharmacy software.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes occasionally.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in delivering patient care.
• Greet customers and answer phone calls professionally.
• Enter, label, and package prescriptions under supervision.
• Count, measure, and package medications per protocols.
• Receive and stock medication and supplies; monitor inventory.
• Maintain clean, organized pharmacy area and dispose of expired items safely.
• Assist with clerical tasks and insurance claims; transfer prescriptions.
• Support daily pharmacy operations and other duties as assigned.

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Durham Pharmacy in Port Perry, Ontario.

Compensation

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on candidate experience.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
