Rx Drug Mart in Englehart, Ontario is hiring a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacists, greet customers, and assist with prescriptions. You will enter data, package medications, manage inventory, and handle clerical tasks in a team-focused environment.

The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Prior retail pharmacy experience and a pharmacy assistant program are assets. Neighbourly Pharmacy network support is provided in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail setting is an asset.
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in patient care.
  • Greet customers and answer calls professionally.
  • Enter, label, and package prescriptions under supervision.
  • Count, measure, and package medications accurately.
  • Receive, stock shipments, and manage inventory.
  • Keep the area clean and dispose of expired meds per regulations.
  • Handle clerical tasks and assist with insurance claims and transfers.
  • Assist with daily pharmacy operations and other duties as assigned.

Job description

Rx Drug Mart is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Englehart, Ontario.
Patient Focused Care Responsibilities
  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
  • Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
  • Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
  • Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
  • Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
  • Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
  • Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy witha preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is an asset.
  • Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry is an asset.
  • Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Schedule
  • The store is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Candidates must be flexible and available to work both daytime and evening shifts as needed to support business operations.
