Neighbourly Pharmacy in Nelson, BC is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Assistant at Pharmasave #148. You will support pharmacists, enter and label prescriptions, and provide excellent customer service in a busy Nelson retail setting.

Qualifications

• Retail pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Basic proficiency with Kroll and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and technicians in patient care.
• Greet customers and answer calls professionally.
• Enter, label, and package prescriptions under supervision.
• Count, measure, and package medications per protocols.
• Receive and stock shipments and monitor inventory.
• Keep the area clean and dispose of waste per regulations.
• Assist with clerical tasks and insurance claims.
• Support daily operations and other duties as assigned.

Pharmasave #148 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our teamin Nelson, British Columbia.

This is a 12-month term position with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role.

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy witha preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is an asset
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll (training will be provided)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule:

• 36 - 40 hours per week (Full-time)
• The store is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• The regular shifts will be on weekdays, with occasional weekend flexibility as needed
