Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy is an asset.
  • Proficiency in prescription data entry (Kroll) is an asset.
  • Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; team player.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes occasionally.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing patient care.
  • Greet customers and answer phone calls professionally.
  • Enter, label, and package prescriptions under supervision.
  • Count, measure, and portion medications per protocol.
  • Receive, stock, and rotate medication and supplies; support audits.

Mel's Pharmacyis looking for apart-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Craik, Saskatchewan.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:
  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
  • Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
  • Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
  • Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
  • Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
  • Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
  • Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy witha preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is an asset
  • Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry is an asset.
  • Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Schedule:
  • 28 hours per week (Part-time)
  • The store is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and scheduled shifts will typically fall within these days and hours.
