Job summary

Pet Valu, Geraldton, Ontario, is seeking a Store Manager to coach and develop a team that delivers world-class service while helping Pet Parents select the right nutrition and products for their pets. You will be part of a passionate team of Pet Experts in a pet-loving environment.

You will lead recruiting, scheduling, training, and daily operations, ensuring staff meet standards and drive sales, with weekend/evening shifts and a focus on community engagement and pet care expertise.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years customer service and retail store management experience.
• Enthusiasm for learning & growth in pet care industry.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings to meet attendance requirements.
• Reliable transportation to and from the store.
• Observe and coach employees to provide feedback on sales techniques and customer service.
• Ability to understand inter-team conflicts and escalate when necessary.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
• Industry experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop store team to deliver world class service.
• Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise staff daily.
• Ensure adherence to corporate standards and procedures.
• Coordinate orders, inventory, store audits, and minor repairs.
• Drive business results through targeted store performance.
• Perform other duties as required.
