Job summary

Pet Valu Canada Inc. in Kingsville, Ontario is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to coach and develop the store team and deliver world class service to customers and Pet Parents.

You will lead a team of passionate Pet Experts and help families find the right nutrition and other solutions for their pets. Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years customer service and retail store management experience.
• Enthusiasm for learning & growth in pet care industry.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work as scheduled including weekends and evenings.
• Reliable transportation to and from the store.
• Observe and coach employees to provide feedback around sales techniques and customer service.
• Ability to manage inter-team conflicts and escalate when necessary.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Capacity to lift 50lbs repetitively.
• Industry experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that customer service standards are met by staff.
• Maintain courteous relationships within the community (e.g. Humane Society).
• Recruit, schedule, train, day-to-day task assignments, supervise and coach staff.
• Adhere to corporate standards and procedures at the store level.
• Coordinate orders, maintain inventory, conduct store and safety audits, and coordinate minor repairs.
• Work to achieve targeted business results.
• Perform other duties as required.
