Description
The couple, both in their late 70s and early 80s, are managing various health challenges including mobility limitations, memory issues, and multiple medications. One client uses a walker and has had recent spinal surgeries, while the other is recovering from a hip fracture and experiences memory lapses that affect daily planning. They have a small, protective dog who is an important part of their household. Both clients are socially active and value their independence, but recognize they need support to stay safely at home.
This is a part-time position requiring 9-12 hours per week, typically spread across 3-4 days. Shifts are generally 2-3 hours each, with preferred days being Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The family is looking for the same dedicated caregiver for all visits to build trust and establish consistent routines. Some flexibility is needed for occasional appointment accompaniment. The clients prefer the same caregiver each visit to build rapport and establish consistent routines. They need someone who can help with memory prompts and redirection due to cognitive challenges. The caregiver should be comfortable working with both clients simultaneously and managing their individual needs. They have a small protective dog (10 lbs) that barks at visitors but is friendly once comfortable. The clients are looking for temporary support while they evaluate their long-term care options.
