Job summary

HUB International in Red Deer is seeking a Personal Insurance Advisor to manage and grow a book of personal lines. You will provide clients with coverage recommendations across home, auto, and travel insurance while delivering excellent service.

This part-time role requires a service-first mindset, strong attention to detail, and clear communication by phone and email. Alberta license and knowledge of broker systems (EPIC) are preferred; CIP/CAIB is an asset.

Qualifications

• Active Alberta General Insurance License (Level 1) required; Level 2 strongly preferred or willingness to obtain.
• 2+ years of personal lines experience in a brokerage environment.
• Hands-on experience with a broker management system; EPIC experience is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of home, auto, and travel insurance products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a book of personal lines business, including renewals, endorsements, and new business.
• Proactively review accounts and recommend coverage adjustments based on evolving needs.
• Respond to client inquiries via phone and email with clear information on coverage, billing, and claims.
• Pursue cross-sell and account rounding opportunities to enhance client protection.
• Monitor expiry lists and engage clients ahead of renewal to support retention targets.
• Liaise with insurer underwriters to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate terms.
• Assist clients through the claims process and explain next steps.
• Maintain accurate client records and policy documentation in the broker management system.

The Opportunity HUB International is looking for a Personal Insurance Advisor to join our Red Deer team.

In this role, you will manage and grow a book of personal lines business, providing clients with coverage recommendations across home, auto, and travel insurance. You bring a service-first mindset, strong attention to detail, and the kind of product knowledge that helps clients make confident decisions about their coverage. This is a part-time role, working 3 days per week out of our Red Deer office.

What You’ll Do

• Manage an existing book of personal lines business, handling renewals, endorsements, new business, and policy changes with accuracy and efficiency
• Conduct thorough account reviews and proactively recommend coverage adjustments based on each client’s evolving needs and exposures
• Respond to client inquiries via phone and email in a timely, professional manner, providing clear and accurate information on coverage, billing, and claims
• Actively pursue cross-sell and account rounding opportunities to ensure clients are comprehensively protected
• Monitor expiry lists and follow up with clients ahead of renewal to support retention targets
• Liaise with insurer underwriters to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate terms on behalf of clients
• Support clients through the claims reporting process, helping them understand next steps and manage expectations
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and policy documentation in the broker management system
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service delivery and contribute to a strong team environment

What We’re Looking For

• Active Level 1 Alberta General Insurance License required; Level 2 strongly preferred or willing to obtain 2+ years of personal lines experience in a brokerage environment
• Hands-on experience with a broker management system; EPIC experience is an asset
• Strong working knowledge of home, auto, and travel insurance products and coverages
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage renewals and policy documentation accurately
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment with competing priorities
• CAIB or CIP designation, or working toward one, is considered an asset
