Description:

The People Relations Coordinator supports a respectful, compliant workplace by providing coordination, information management, documentation, and client service support to the People Relations team. Reporting to the Manager, People Relations and working closely with Advisors and Consultants, the Coordinator supports employee and labour relations processes by gathering and organizing information, coordinating meetings and interviews, preparing routine correspondence and documentation, maintaining confidential files, and tracking follow-up actions and timelines. The Coordinator also supports routine investigations by organizing documentation, scheduling interviews, taking notes, and summarizing information for review. The Coordinator supports labour relations activities by receiving, tracking, prioritizing and routing inquiries, locating relevant collective agreement language, maintaining grievance logs, monitoring timelines, and gathering information for review. The role also assists with layoff, recall, and other labour relations processes, helping ensure effective information flow between HR, leaders, employees, and other stakeholders. The Coordinator provides general information, directs employees and leaders to appropriate resources, assists with forms and documentation, and supports consistent, timely, professional and values-aligned client service. The role also maintains HR resource guides, reference materials and process documentation. The Coordinator provides general administrative and operational support, including coordinating schedules, correspondence, information requests, reports, tracking tools, meetings, interviews, projects and cross-team initiatives, while working collaboratively with employees, leaders and HR professionals to support effective People Relations operations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field with up to 1 year of related experience (HR, employee relations, labour relations, healthcare or unionized environment.

Additional Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will be proficient with technology, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), and internet-based software, with the ability to quickly learn and effectively use new digital tools, including AI-supported technology, to improve efficiency and productivity. Strong organizational and time-management skills are required, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, anticipate needs, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to communicate clearly, respectfully and professionally with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Strong customer service, critical thinking and judgment are essential, including the ability to assess situations, identify issues, determine appropriate next steps, and recognize when to seek guidance. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is required, along with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism, discretion and sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

A CPHR designation or progress toward CPHR designation is an asset. Experience in a unionized or healthcare environment, with knowledge of collective agreements, HR policies or employment legislation, is preferred. Experience supporting employee relations, investigations or performance management, and proficiency with HRIS platforms such as ePeople, are also assets. A diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field with 2–3 years of related experience may be considered.
