Here’s the scoop - Summary
This is a tremendous opportunity for an up-and-coming human resource professional to contribute to the success of a highly respected global brand HR team by supporting its ability to attract, develop, and retain exceptional Associates.
The P&O Coordinator will work from our new, state-of-the-art manufacturing and warehousing facility in Acheson, Alberta, and will have to support remote warehouse locations. As a key People & Organization team member, you will implement programs and processes to develop a high-performance team culture and drive operational excellence.
What a typical day looks like
- Be a highly trusted, visible, and accessible P&O professional within our Canadian operations and our global P&O team.
- Owner of hourly recruitment in Acheson, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting pre-screen interviews, and coordinating interviews with hiring managers. Supporting new employee onboarding, including facilitating orientation to drive a positive new hire experience from day one.
- Leading employee lifecycle changes. Tracking and documenting probationary periods, team changes, promotions, and other employee status updates.
- Ensure all processes, including performance evaluations, promotions, and offboarding procedures, are followed to maintain accurate records and smooth employee transitions.
- Assisting with benefits administration, including enrollment, updates, and inquiries.
- Processing and tracking employee leaves of absence, including vacation, sick leave, extended vacation, job-protected leaves, non-occupational disability leaves, etc.
- Assisting with payroll administration and ensuring accurate employee time tracking and compensation records.
- Acting as a point of contact for People & Organization related inquiries, assisting in conflict resolution and supporting internal communications to promote company culture and values.
- Coordinating company events, recognition programs, and team-building activities.
- Supporting employee feedback mechanisms (employee surveys, one-on-one check-ins) and helping analyze results to improve the work environment.
- Providing administrative support to the People & Organization team.
- Supporting drive Associate engagement with impact plans and hosting quarterly roundtable or frontline discussions to foster team alignment and drive results.
- Enhancing the new hire orientation process by integrating a personalized follow-up plan and making changes to the orientation based on the feedback received.
- Help solidify MARS Five Principals and keep them living in our Associates base.
- Draft discipline letters and issue with the respective leader to Associates and/or support the P&O Manager with drafting, issuing, and tracking discipline letters.
- Monitor Canadian Operations Human Resources inbox.
- Maintain different trackers like monthly HR Ops tracker, recruitment tracker, discipline tracker, roster, etc.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Human Resources/Business Administration/related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Flexibility to work across different shifts, including nights (only on a need basis)
- High integrity with strong customer focus.
- Deep understanding of maintaining confidentiality on all human resource matters.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively in response to changing priorities.
- 3+ years of progressive human resources experience, including full-cycle recruitment to support a transformational, high-growth organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of employees, from new hires to executive leaders.
- Positive attitude and growth mindset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat and familiarity with HRIS software such as UKG and Workday.
- Willingness to work in the office full-time.
