Job summary

Breakthrough Academy is hiring a People & Culture Specialist for an 18-month fixed-term maternity leave contract in Canada. You will partner with leaders and teams to enhance onboarding, performance conversations, compensation, culture, and employee experiences.

You will manage day-to-day People & Culture operations, support HRIS administration (BambooHR), and drive practical, thoughtful people processes aligned with our high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in People & Culture or HR operations.
• Experience owning or supporting employee lifecycle processes.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation in Canada (BC/AB).
• Experience with onboarding, offboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day People & Culture operations across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
• Partner with leaders on employee matters, policies, and employment legislation.
• Lead annual processes like performance and compensation reviews and engagement surveys.
• Prepare employment agreements and documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Collaborate with Finance on payroll changes, compensation, benefits, and administration.
• Support employer branding and the employee experience initiatives.
• Maintain and improve HR processes, SOPs, policies, and templates.
• Own BambooHR administration, including records and workflows.
