  • Calculate and key semi-monthly payroll
  • Ensure accurate employee records are maintained in Ceridian payroll database
  • Prepare excel documents for upload in Dayforce
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and GL account reconciliations
  • Prepare remittances for third party deductions such as garnishments, RRSP/TFSA, pension, charitable donations, etc.
  • Support employees and past employees with any payroll queries
  • Issue Records of Employment
  • Maintain payroll sources documents using company e-filing system
  • Work as a team to ensure deadlines are met

  • Excellent (English) written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy
  • Highly effective customer service and collaborative skills

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A minimum of 2-year post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or equivalent
  • 2 - 4 years of payroll processing experience
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • PCP Designation from National Payroll Institute (formerly Canadian Payroll Association)
  • Experience working with Ceridian Dayforce and SuccessFactors integration

Ideally you will have

  • Experience in processing multi-province payroll with 1000+ employees
  • This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and professionals nationally and globally. Professional competency in the English language is therefore a requirement of this role. Bilingualism in both French and English is considered an asset.
