Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our Corporate Compliance Unit (CCU) as Project Lead . In this role, reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will conduct operational and compliance reviews across various business units to ensure effective internal controls, governance, and risk management. You will enhance operational efficiency, support process improvements, and provide strategic advice to leadership.
Major Responsibilities
- Implement plans and recommend policies tailored to program needs.
- Understand complex systems, processes, regulations, risks, and controls to identify and assess risks.
- Conduct research considering developments, policies, legislation, and initiatives.
- Use data analytics to improve review efficiency and identify insights.
- Establish review objectives, scope, methodology, and criteria.
- Perform audit procedures including interviews, testing, and document review.
- Analyze findings, recommend improvements, and communicate with management.
- Ensure quality documentation and timely project delivery.
- Advise on internal control, governance, and risk management.
- Support business process improvements and evaluate systems and controls.
- Collaborate with teams to support project delivery.
- Manage divisional reporting, FOI requests, and inquiries.
- Lead projects, ensure high-quality work, and promote continuous improvement.
- Follow up on previous findings and reassess risks.
- Prepare briefing notes and reports.
- Support additional projects as needed.
- Lead process improvements within CCU.
- Ensure projects conform to procedures.
Key Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or working towards relevant certification (CIA, CPA, CRMA, CISA), or equivalent experience.
- Experience in operational and compliance reviews, governance, risk, and controls.
- Experience managing review projects from start to finish.
- Knowledge of auditing and risk management standards.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, strategic thinking, research, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.
- Ability to work independently or in teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
