Job summary

City of Laval is seeking an experienced payroll executive to plan, coordinate, and supervise the weekly payroll processing for all employees. You will ensure data integrity, compliance with collective agreements and tax regulations, and supervise the division’s operational staff to meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in accounting or administration with an accounting focus, has 8 years of payroll experience in a unionized environment, and possesses strong knowledge of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting sciences or administration with an accounting focus.
• 8 years of payroll processing experience in a unionized environment.
• Strong knowledge of tax rules and compensation laws.
• Excellent knowledge of databases and Excel.
• Experience with a computerized payroll management system (HRIS).

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise weekly payroll processing.
• Supervise operational staff in payroll production.
• Identify and communicate payroll issues to HR service center.
• Ensure data integrity and timely payroll changes in the payroll system.
• Provide effective customer service for ongoing payroll operations.
