Job summary

Recruiting In Motion - Eastern Ontario is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager (CPM) to lead a large payroll team in Toronto. You will oversee processing for all employees, ensure compliance, and report to the Director of Finance, collaborating with HR, Accounting, and Finance to record payroll correctly.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in payroll, expert knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and Kronos, and advanced Excel. This role requires in-office work five days a week in Ontario.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPM designation is required.
  • 7+ years of experience in payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, and reporting.
  • Experience leading a large payroll team.
  • Strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and Kronos payroll systems, with advanced knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a large payroll team, ensuring all payroll-related tasks are completed accurately, timely and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the processing of payroll for all employees and ensure that all payroll taxes, wage garnishments, and other deductions are processed correctly.
  • Manage and maintain all payroll records and reports to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures and best practices, to ensure the payroll function operates effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, as needed.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with external vendors, such as ADP and Kronos, to ensure the payroll function remains up-to-date with current payroll technologies and industry standards.
  • Review and approve all payroll-related reports and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Calculations of bonuses and commissions.
  • Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Finance teams to ensure payroll transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger.
  • Lead the implementation of new payroll systems or technologies.
  • Develop and deliver training to employees on payroll policies and procedures, as required.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Job description

Our tier 1 client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Payroll Manager with a CPM designation to lead a large payroll team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire payroll process for our company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. The Payroll Manager will report directly to the Director of Finance and will work closely with other members of the finance team. The ideal candidate must have a strong pace and initiative, a proven track record of leading large payroll teams, and advanced knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, Kronos, and Advance Excel.
