In this contract role, the Analyst, Payroll is responsible for supporting accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for employees across Canada, with some support for US and/or global payrolls as required.
This role brings strong payroll knowledge, attention to detail, and analytical discipline to payroll inputs, outputs, reporting, reconciliations, and employee inquiries. The Analyst, Payroll works closely with HR, HRIS, Finance and ADP, and benefits partners to maintain accurate payroll records, support smooth pay cycles, and stay current with payroll legislation and government filing requirements.
As part of the global payroll team,participateinCanadianpayroll processing using ADP Workforce Now.Responsibilities may span supportingotherglobal payroll initiatives and processes.
Validate payroll data transferred fromour SAP Success Factors;HRIS sources, including demographic data,proper tax location,compensation changes, leaves, deductions, earnings, and direct deposit information.
Partner with ADP service representatives to supportaccurate,timelypayroll processing and resolve payroll issues or exceptions.
Prepare and enteronto ADP’s Auto Form;payroll adjustments, one-time payments,retropaymentsand other payroll entriesrequiredto supportaccurateandon timepay.
Ensure accuracy ofterminations, vacation pay calculations, Records of Employment, and related final pay requirements with an understanding of applicable employment standards.
Ensure proper processing andremittance of employer and employee payroll deductions and contributions, including garnishments, workers’ compensation, benefit deductions, RRSP, and other pre- and post-payroll items.
Support ROE preparation following each applicable payroll cycle.
Assistwithquarter and year-end reconciliationand balancing activities,ensure properstatutory filings, T4/RL-1, T2200 and TP-64preparation, andWorkers Compensation and Employer Health Taxreporting.
Monitor the payroll inbox and respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and internal partners ina timely, clear, and customer-focused manner.
Ability to pull reporting within Success Factors and ADP WFN and conduct validation between systems data, investigate discrepancies and conduct corrections whererequired.
Audit payroll records for new hires, terminations, salary increases, deductions, directdeposits, taxablebenefits, andearnings.
Conduct employeetax setupin ADP Workforce Now.
Mayassistwith integration related activitiessuch astesting and system configuration.
Work with HR, Finance, and other internal partners to answer questions, resolve discrepancies, clarify payroll inputs, and support continuous improvement in payroll processes and controls.
Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong judgment, prioritization, and the ability to work independently while knowing when to lift.
Advanced Excel skillsis a requirement;includingvlookup’s, pivot tables, formulas, andstrongdata validation techniques.
Comfort using Copilot,Claudeand other AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, validation, and analysis whilemaintainingappropriate reviewand judgment.
A proventrack recordof executing accurately and delivering on agreed-uponobjectivesand timelines.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and data integrity.
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Initiative, curiosity, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
A minimum of4years of payroll experience, withsound knowledgeof Canadian payroll, employment standards, statutory deductions, and related compliance requirements.
Experience and sound knowledge of ADP Workforce Now isa must.
Experience with SAP SuccessFactors is an asset.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office applications and in particular with Microsoft Excel.
Understanding ofglobalpayroll rules and regulations is adefiniteasset.
Payroll Compliance Professional designation, Canadian Payroll Association designation, or equivalent experience is preferred.
Post-secondary education in Finance, Payroll, Accounting,HRorrelated fieldsis recommended.
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position in Toronto is $54,400 to $ 68,000, annually.
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, education, and related certification. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.
