Job summary

Priority Patient Transfer is hiring 1 Full-Time Patient Transfer Attendant for our Bancroft, ON location. You will transport patients safely by stretcher or wheelchair to healthcare facilities or residences and deliver excellent customer service with strong communication.

Qualifications include First Responder or EMCA, BLS, a valid G license, ability to lift 250+ lbs, clean driving record and vulnerable sector check. Training for First Responder and BLS is provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Valid First Responder Certification or Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant Certification or working towards Paramedic Diploma (year 1 complete) or Fire Fighter with EMR Certification.
• Valid BLS Certification; training provided if needed.
• G class driving license is required.
• Ability to lift 250+ lbs. with a partner using stretcher/chair.
• Effective verbal and written English communication.
• Safe driver with a clean driving record.
• Clean criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening.
• Up-to-date immunization records (MMR, DPT, Polio, Varicella, Hepatitis B, COVID-19, TB test) valid within last 12 months.
• Comfort with 12-hour shifts.
• Night and weekend availability if requested.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely by stretcher or wheelchair to/from healthcare facilities, nursing homes, or residences.

• Maintain clear and effective communication with staff and patients.

Your Role

• You are responsible for the safe transport of patients via stretcher/wheelchair to/from a healthcare facility, nursing home, or private residence
• You can provide outstanding customer service
• You have excellent communication skills

Your Profile

You must possess the following qualifications:

• You have a valid First Responder Certification OR Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant Certification OR are working towards a Paramedic Diploma (must be finished year 1) OR are a Fire Fighter with Emergency Medical Responder Certification (please note, we provide training for First Responder if needed)
• You have a Valid BLS Certification (please note, we provide BLS training if needed)
• You possess a valid G class driving license.
• You have the ability to lift 250+ lbs. using a stretcher or stair chair with partner.
• You can effectively communicate in both verbal and written English.
• You are a safe driver with a clean driving record
• You can obtain a clean criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening
• You have up to date immunization records and can provide the following records of: MMR, DPT, Polio, Varicella, Hepatitis B, COVID-19 (2 doses), TB Skin Test (Step 1) *must be valid within last 12 month.
• You are comfortable with 12hrs shifts
• You have night and weekend availability if requested.
