Job summary

LifeLabs is seeking a Lab Patient Technician in the North York/Thornhill/Woodbridge area to support specimen collection and processing. The role involves greeting patients, preparing specimens for transport, and performing phlebotomies, ECGs, and special test collections.

The successful candidate will have a Laboratory Assistant credential or equivalent, experience in phlebotomy or ECG, and strong communication and data-entry skills. Part-time regular schedule applies with on-site work.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent is preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is an asset.
• ECG training or experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Greet and request information from patients, explain the specimen collection process.
• Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
• Perform special test collections and complete related documentation.
• Maintain client relationships and respond to inquiries.
• Data entry of patient demographics and requisition information.
• Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
