Job summary

Dynacare is seeking a Laboratory Assistant – LHSC in Kelowna to support processing blood samples and related specimens, enter requisitions and results, and deliver compassionate patient care. This role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and empathy in stressful patient situations, with a 100% onsite work style.

The successful candidate will be CSMLS/BCSLS MLA certified or eligible, with related science education and phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• CSMLS/BCSLS MLA certification required or equivalent.
• Bachelor degree in a related scientific discipline may be considered.
• 1 year patient-facing phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter data, patient and test information for requisitions accurately and timely.
• Obtain quality blood samples and specimens using venipuncture techniques.
• Ensure specimens and documentation comply with SOPs and are ready for transport to the lab.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and contribute to quality metrics and regulatory compliance.
• Provide empathetic customer service to support a positive patient experience.
