Qualifications

Position Description:

As part of our Respiratory Care team, this role is responsible for coordinating telephone and electronic referrals, scheduling patient care visits, and verifying funding agency criteria for home oxygen therapy and related healthcare services. We seek individuals who are customer-focused, patient, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing and following through on tasks within critical deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Warmly welcome clients, assist with purchases, book appointments, and answer therapy inquiries.
  • Promptly answer calls, receive faxes, distribute correspondence, requisition supplies, and perform office duties.
  • Bill insurance and government agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of submissions and payments, minimize accounts receivable, and ensure prompt collection of outstanding payments.
  • Adhere to patient charting protocols in the Electronic Medical Records system.
  • Support marketing efforts by maintaining literature supplies, assisting with social media, and managing patient feedback.
  • Assist clients with CPAP and oxygen supply replenishment using EMR-based programs.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • College Degree in administration or equivalent is an asset.
  • At least 2+ years in a medical administrative role, preferably in Home Oxygen and Sleep therapy.
  • Retail and merchandising experience is a strong asset.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Blueprint, QuickBooks, and agency portal systems is an asset.
  • Ability to learn various processes in a changing environment quickly.
  • Professional, friendly interpersonal manner with strong customer service skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, assessing situations, and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative to address clients' Oxygen and Sleep therapy needs with minimal assistance.
  • Strong listening skills and decision-making ability.
