Job summary

Brightshores Health System in Markdale is seeking a part-time Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to assist with routine patient care within the approved plan of care. Reporting to the Manager and under supervision of an RN/RPN, you will contribute to a safe, compassionate environment and support patient well-being.

Qualifications include a PSW certificate, CPR, hospital experience, strong communication, infection control knowledge, and ability to work all shifts.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Completion of the Personal Support Worker Program from a recognized Community College or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification.
• Recent experience in a healthcare facility.
• Completion of Code White training (to be provided).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of infection control practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Strong organizational and patient assessment abilities.
• Excellent communication with patients, families and healthcare professionals.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.

STATUS: PART-TIMEREASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT

WAGE RATE: $37.071 - $38.157

Reporting to the Manager, and under the guidance of an RN and RPN, the Personal Care Assistant (PCA) will assist with routine activities of patient care within the agreed upon plan of care and will be performing cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification or clinical specialty, as required. The PCA promotes an environment that is optimal for the physical, social and emotional well-being of our patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Certificate of Completion of the Personal Support Worker Program from a recognized Community College or a combination of relevant experience and education preferably from an acute care facility.
• Current CPR
• Recent experience as a in a healthcare facility
• Successful completion of corporate Code White training (to be provided)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of Infection Control Practices
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent organizational and patient assessment skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
