Job summary

Brightshores Health System in Meaford, Ontario is seeking a Part-time Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support routine patient care within the established plan. You will work under the supervision of an RN and RPN, promoting patient comfort, safety and well-being.

The role requires completion of a PSW program, CPR certification, and recent healthcare experience. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and participate in ongoing professional development while adhering to Brightshores’

Qualifications

• Certificate of Completion of the Personal Support Worker Program from a recognized Community College or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification.
• Recent experience in a healthcare facility.
• Completion of Code White training (to be provided).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Infection Control Practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

STATUS: PART-TIMEREASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT

WAGE RATE: $37.071 - $38.157

Reporting to the Manager, and under the guidance of an RN and RPN, the Personal Care Assistant (PCA) will assist with routine activities of patient care within the agreed upon plan of care and will be performing cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification or clinical specialty, as required. The PCA promotes an environment that is optimal for the physical, social and emotional well-being of our patients.

QUALIFICATIONS Required:

• Certificate of Completion of the Personal Support Worker Program from a recognized Community College or a combination of relevant experience and education preferably from an acute care facility.
• Current CPR
• Recent experience as a in a healthcare facility
• Successful completion of corporate Code White training (to be provided)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of Infection Control Practices
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
