Job summary

Brightshores in Markdale, Ontario is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical department for direct replacement. The role involves promoting health, assessing needs, and delivering comprehensive care to patients across preventive, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative services.

Reporting to the site manager, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, interpret basic arrhythmias, participate in endoscopy and emergency coverage, and maintain patient safety while supporting

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility.
• Ability to interpret basic arrhythmias.
• Willingness to work in Emergency as required.
• Ability to work in endoscopy.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Leadership, problem solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills.
• Assessment and interviewing skills.
• Ability and willingness to escort patients via ambulance when required.
• Team oriented and committed to continuous quality improvement.
• Excellent communication with patients, families and healthcare professionals.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Promote health and assess, provide care and treat health conditions to patients.
• Deliver preventive, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative care to attain optimal function.
• Report to site Manager and collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Contribute to unit meetings and quality improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the site Manager, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to patients in order to attain or maintain optimal function

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

Required

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility
• Ability and willingness to interpret basic arrhythmias
• Ability and willingness to work in Emergency as required
• Ability to work endoscopy
• Current certification in or willingness to obtain:
  • ACLS
  • BCLS
• Leadership, problem solving, decision-making, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
• Assessment and interviewing skills
• Ability and willingness to escort patients via ambulance services when required
• Ability and willingness to flex time to meet unit, staff and patient needs
