Job summary

Fairmont Chateau Whistler, nestled at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, offers seasonal and permanent Cook opportunities for winter 2026 with a December 2026 start. Roles include First, Second, and Third Cook, focused on quality, safety, and efficiency in a busy resort kitchen.

Starting pay ranges—First Cook $25.85/hr, Second Cook $23.85/hr, Third Cook $22.45/hr—with increases after 6 months and annually to three years. Subsidized housing and complimentary meals are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the culinary field.
• Diploma/Certification in a culinary discipline an asset.
• Subsidized staff accommodation provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items for all Food & Beverage outlets including à la carte and buffet service.
• Accurately prepare pastries and other food items according to recipes and procedures.
• Ensure all food is prepared, handled, and stored in accordance with food safety standards.
• Complete food safety requirements including temperature logs, FIFO rotation and product labelling.
• Communicate effectively with Culinary Leadership and support efficient kitchen operations.
• Follow all health, safety, sanitation and hotel policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We have both seasonal and permanent opportunities available across winter 2026. Positions start in December 2026.

Starting Rate of Pay:

First Cook: $25.85 per hour / Second Cook:$23.85 per hour /Third Cook:$22.45 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation - hourly rates increase after 6 months and then yearly to three years.
