Job summary

The Parts Technician at Peterbilt Pacific will be responsible for ordering, warehousing, inventory control and the sale of parts. You will identify/search for parts, ship/receive, and provide excellent customer service.

This role supports the dealership's commitment to integrity, excellence, and customer value. You will maintain accurate records, process requisitions, assist customers and internal users, and participate in training programs.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years heavy duty parts department experience.
  • Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree.
  • Red Seal parts certification is an asset.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong personal organizational skills and time management.
  • Ability to promote service sales and expand customer base.
  • Solid understanding of the truck industry.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and sort incoming parts and supplies.
  • Telephone sales support.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in a warehouse or supply room.
  • Process requisitions and issue or distribute parts for internal usage.
  • Maintain records of orders and stock on hand using inventory systems.
  • Prepare requisition orders to replenish stock.
  • Sell spare and replacement parts in a retail setting.
  • Post receipts and stock adjustments into the system.
  • Advise customers on parts suitability and usage.
  • Fill customer orders from stock and prepare sales slips.
  • Keep track of backorders and follow up with vendors and customers.
  • Increase parts sales and customer satisfaction through upselling and promotions.
  • Ensure product and service quality; assist with merchandising.
  • Participate in training programs and assist the Parts Manager as needed.
  • Occasional lifting up to 100 lbs; other duties as assigned.

The Parts Technician is responsible forordering, warehousing, inventory control and the saleof parts. Their duties also include identifying/searching for parts and equipment, shipping and receiving, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and sort incoming parts and supplies

  • Process incoming requisitions and issue or distribute parts and supplies for internal usage
  • Maintain records of orders and the amount, kind and location of parts and supplies on hand using a manual or computerized inventory system
  • Prepare requisition orders to replenish parts and supplies
  • Sell spare and replacement parts for motor vehicles, machinery and equipment in a retail setting
  • Post receipts, stock adjustments, request for credits and PR’s into computer
  • Advise retail customers or internal users on appropriateness of parts, supplies or materials requested.
  • Fill customer orders from stock. Prepare sales slips or sales contracts.
  • Keep track of backorders and follow up with vendors and customers
  • Endeavor to increase parts sales and customer satisfaction through suggestive selling, use of coupon discounts and monthly flyer specials
  • Ensure that product and service quality exceeds expectations. Aids in the merchandising of parts
  • Must participate in all training programs made available through Peterbilt or outside vendors
  • Assist Parts Manager as needed
  • Occasional moderate lifting of up to 100 lbs is required
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications

Compensation Rate
  • $26.26- $47.75per hour
  • Pay rate will be determined based on previous experience, relevant certifications and skill level
