Job summary

Peace Country Rentals is seeking a motivated Parts Person to join our Fort St. John team. In this role you will assist technicians by identifying, sourcing, and ordering parts and providing friendly service in person, by phone, or email.

You will look up parts using manufacturer catalogues and online systems, prepare quotations, process orders, and coordinate with the Service Department to ensure technicians have what they need to complete repairs efficiently.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a parts department, equipment dealership, automotive, agricultural, or heavy equipment industry is an asset.
• Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with equipment and parts is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable using computers, inventory systems, and electronic parts catalogues.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize requests, and work efficiently in a busy environment.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• A team player who is dependable, accountable, and willing to lend a hand when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with identifying, sourcing, and ordering equipment parts.
• Provide knowledgeable and friendly service in person, over the phone, and by email.
• Look up parts using manufacturer catalogues, diagrams, and online systems.
• Prepare parts quotations, process orders, and follow up on customer inquiries.
• Work closely with our Service Department to ensure technicians have the parts they need to complete repairs efficiently.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock counts and inventory control.
• Receive, inspect, organize, and properly store incoming parts and supplies.
• Coordinate special orders, backorders, returns, and warranty-related parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized parts department.
• Collaborate with other departments to keep daily operations running smoothly.
