Job summary

Nelson Motors and Equipment in Avonlea, SK, is seeking a Parts Lead to manage day-to-day operation of our Parts departments across multiple locations. You will assist customers, coordinate workflow, and mentor staff while ensuring accurate parts service and smooth inventory, pricing, returns and invoicing.

The role requires strong parts and machinery knowledge, including John Deere experience; 3–5 years in a dealership or related setting; and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Strong parts and machinery knowledge; John Deere agriculture experience preferred.
  • 3–5 years of parts experience in dealership, agriculture, equipment, automotive, trucking, or related environment.
  • Experience with parts operations, inventory practices, customer service, business systems, and John Deere computer applications.
  • Organizational, team-oriented approach with coaching or mentoring experience.
  • Valid driver’s license; forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification; willingness to live within 50 km of the location.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers, technicians and internal teams with accurate parts service.
  • Coordinate daily workflow, inventory processes, ordering, returns, warranties, pricing and invoicing.
  • Identify customer needs, recommend parts and related products, promote seasonal programs.

We are looking for a Parts Lead to support the day-to-day operation of our Parts departments at each of our locations in Avonlea, Radville, Estevan, Oxbow and Redvers. This hands‑on role is ideal for an experienced parts professional who enjoys helping customers, coordinating workflow, mentoring team members, and keeping inventory and parts processes running smoothly.

About the Role

As a Parts Lead, you will support customers, technicians, and internal teams with accurate parts service while helping coordinate daily workflow, inventory processes, ordering, returns, warranties, pricing, and invoicing. You will support parts sales by identifying customer needs, recommending suitable parts and related products, promoting seasonal programs when appropriate, and following up to support department sales goals. Working closely with the Parts Manager, you will help keep the department organized, customer‑focused, and operating safely while coaching and supporting team members.

For you to be considered for an interview you have the following qualifications:
  • Strong parts and machinery knowledge, with John Deere agriculture experience considered a strong asset.
  • 3–5 years of parts experience in a dealership, agriculture, equipment, automotive, trucking, or related environment.
  • Experience with parts operations, inventory practices, customer service, business systems, and John Deere computer applications.
  • A practical, organized, team‑oriented approach, with coaching, mentoring, or team‑building experience considered an asset.
  • A valid driver's licence, forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification, and willingness to live within 50 km of the location.
For you to be successful in this role you:
  • Put customers first by providing timely, accurate, and professional parts support, including clear communication with customers, technicians, vendors, co‑workers, and other departments.
  • Stay organized and accurate while balancing counter service, inventory tasks, business systems, team mentoring, and daily workflow priorities.
  • Lead by example with a positive, hands‑on approach, coaching team members, sharing knowledge, reinforcing processes, and supporting a safe, accountable Parts department.
  • Use strong parts knowledge, equipment familiarity, inventory practices, and agriculture awareness to support accurate service and practical solutions for customers.
  • Take ownership of your work, follow through on commitments, identify issues, and thrive on exceeding expectations, including working extended hours and some weekends when needed.
