Job summary

Maxim Truck and Trailer is seeking a Parts Counter Person for its Brandon, MB location. You will help customers find parts, take orders, and process invoices while learning a progressive team and trade. No prior parts experience required, but problem-solving, selling skills, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years heavy-duty truck and trailer parts experience preferred but not required.
• 2+ years with frontline sales and customer service.
• Prior parts sourcing or purchasing is an asset.
• Customer service focus with ability to build relationships.
• Able to upsell products to customers.
• Strong numbers orientation with attention to detail.
• Organized, prioritizes, and meets deadlines.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn in-house systems.
• Knowledge of Karmak business system preferred.
• Team player with initiative and a willingness to learn.
• Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
• Mechanical aptitude from informal automotive/truck experience is a definite asset.
• Forklift license or ability to achieve an asset.

Responsibilities

• Sells parts to customers and builds customer relationships by correctly identifying parts needed, taking orders, creating invoices, billing out freight, and collecting payment. Inputs lost sales (e.g. due to no stock) into Karmak business system.
• Increases sales and decreases obsolete stock by making suggestions, up-selling products and advising customers on product applications
• Stocks shelves and reports stock levels. Maintains counter and store area and may assist in putting up displays. Participates in annual parts inventories, clean-up and preparation work.
• Sources parts for select customers by phoning suppliers and competitors. Seeks technical information regarding new & current products and orders merchandise within established limits.
• Accepts returned goods from customers for a credit

PARTS COUNTER PERSON

Have no previous parts experience but have a desire to join a progressive team and learn a new trade? Then please share your resume with us. We are looking for an individual that likes to problem solve and help customers find the parts they need to keep their fleets rolling.

Hours

Monday to Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM and a Saturday 8:00AM-4:00PM shift (every 3 weeks).
