Job summary

Inland Truck & Equipment in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Product Support Representative (Outside Parts Salesperson) to drive heavy truck parts sales and manage assigned accounts. You will call on customers, promote products, and deliver superior service while building profitability and sales volumes within your designated territory.

This role requires knowledge of heavy truck parts and dealership operations, with travel within Canada/USA possible. A valid driver’s license and passport are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of heavy truck parts, commercial shop operations, or experience in a truck dealership as parts technician/parts counterperson.
• Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and achieve maximum sales volumes for assigned accounts.
• Provide value-added services with customer visits.
• Conduct new (cold) sales calls weekly.
• Monitor operations of accounts and advise on inventory, services, and product enhancements.
• Conduct sales calls to introduce new products and promotions.
• Provide superior customer service to all accounts.
• Plan territory coverage and manage time per management expectations.
• Complete customer call reports with weekly results.
• Control personal expenses within approved budget and submit weekly reports.
• Investigate customer issues and refer to Department/General Manager.
• Assist counter personnel with orders, deliveries and inquiries.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Product Support Representative (Outside Parts Salesperson – Truck Parts Sales) is a sales leader in heavy truck parts sales and will be responsible for selling heavy truck parts and accessories to new and existing customers. In this role you will also be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing maximum parts department profitability and sales volumes of assigned accounts within a designated territory. In this outside sales position you will call on customers, introduce products and promotions and provide superior customer service to all accounts in your territory.

This position requires knowledge of heavy truck parts, commercial truck shop operations and/or experience in a truck dealership as parts technician/parts counterperson.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and achieves maximum sales volumes consistent with sales projections for assigned accounts
• Provide value added services with consistent customer visits
• Conduct new (cold) sales calls on a weekly basis
• Monitor operations of assigned accounts, offers advice and assistance when required in areas such as inventory control, available services, new products and/or product enhancements
• Conduct sales calls with assigned accounts to introduce new products and promotions
• Provide superior customer service to all accounts
• Plan territory coverage and manages time consistent with expectations of management
• Complete customer call report with weekly summary of results
• Control personal expenses within the approved budget and submits weekly expense reports
• Investigate and refers customer issues to the appropriate Department Manager and/or General Manager
• Assist counter personnel with orders, deliveries and customer inquiries

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

• Knowledge of heavy truck parts and accessories, commercial truck shop operations and/or experience in a truck dealership as parts technician/parts counterperson required.
• Qualification as a truck Parts Journeyperson preferred
• Excellent sales skills, preferably in a related field
• Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills
• Travel within and outside of the local area required including sales calls, customer visits and/or meetings at Inland branches, training programs or seminars, trips to vendor and OEM locations. This may include travel in both Canada and the USA, so it is essential you hold and maintain a valid driver’s licence and passport at all times and be able to travel as required.
