Nanaimo Community Hospice Society is seeking a compassionate Volunteer Coordinator to lead the Volunteer Program, recruit and train volunteers, and build strong relationships within a strengths-based culture. This role is part-time and reports to the Program Manager, requiring strong organizational skills and comfort with MS Office and database programs.

Formación

• Post-secondary degree in a related field is an asset.
• Completion of NCHS volunteer training, or willingness to take it once hired.
• Training in Adult Education is an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Recruits, screens, and trains new volunteers.
• Recruits volunteers for the House and Thrift Shoppe to ensure sufficient numbers.
• Provides initial orientation for new House volunteers with Hospice staff.
• Monitors volunteer performance and supports in evaluations.
• Delivers support and encouragement to volunteers through regular communication.
• Maintains volunteer education opportunities in coordination with the Program Manager.
