Job summary

Oxford Learning Mississauga Central is seeking a Part-time Elementary Tutor to support students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 at our Mississauga location. This in-person role requires availability Monday to Thursday evenings (4:00pm–8:00pm) and Saturdays (10:00am–2:00pm).

You will teach up to three students at varying levels, follow Oxford Learning methodologies, and provide daily notes and updates while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor. Relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
• Teaching online and in-person.
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Filling in post-lesson notes.
• Completing daily student communication updates.
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Part-Time Elementary Tutor

Employment Type: Part Time

Pay: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour

Position Requirements

Candidates MUST be available Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 8:00pm, as well as Saturdays (10:00am - 2:00pm). A commitment for the entire school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 8 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
