Job summary

Oxford Learning Unionville in Markham, Ontario is seeking a part-time High School English Teacher/Tutor to support Grade 9–12 students with English and Social Studies. You will teach up to three students at a time, offline and online, using pre-planned lessons and our proprietary methods.

The schedule runs after school and in the evenings (4:00pm–8:30pm) with Saturday mornings as backup, and a commitment through the school year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Grade 9 to Grade 12 English curriculum.
• Knowledge of Social Studies is a bonus.

Responsibilities

Part-Time High School English Teacher/Tutor

Markham, Ontario

Employment Type: Part Time

Pay: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour

Oxford Learning Unionville is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language and social studies and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:30pm) as well as Saturdays (9:00am - 1:30pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. No relocation package is offered. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
