Job summary

Canadian Rockies Public Schools in Canmore is seeking a part-time, temporary Literacy and Numeracy teacher who demonstrates the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard. Responsibilities include sharing literacy and numeracy support in a K-8 school, supporting students, teachers and educational assistants, teaching whole class, small groups and individuals, and contributing to IPP goals through team teaching.

Start Date: October 1, 2026 or when a suitable candidate is found. End Date: June 30, 2027.

Qualifications

• Alberta Teaching Quality Standard required or demonstrated.
• Experience with literacy and numeracy instruction in K-8 settings preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and educational assistants.

Responsibilities

• Share literacy and numeracy support in a K-8 school.
• Support students, teachers and educational assistants in programming and sharing best practices.
• Teach whole class, small groups and individual students.
• Contribute to the development of goals for IPPs (Individual Program Plans).

Duties to include:

• Sharing literacy and numeracy support / responsibilities in a K-8 school
• Supporting students, teachers and educational assistants in programming and sharing best practices of instruction for a variety of students
• Teaching whole class, small groups and individual students
• Contributing to the development of goals for Individual Program Plans (IPPs)
• Team teaching

Start Date: October 1, 2026 or when a suitable candidate is found.

End Date: June 30, 2027

Closing date for applications: Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 12:00 noon or until a successful candidate is found. Preference will be given to those applicants received on or before September 17, 2026.
