Job summary

Rocky View Schools invites applications for two full-time Divisional Complexity teaching positions starting immediately. The successful candidates will work alongside Divisional Learning Specialists and must have reliable transportation for travel between RVS sites.

Alberta Teaching Certificate eligibility is required. Applicants should provide a reference letter and a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years classroom teaching experience.
• Experience or background in Learning Supports or Inclusive Education is an asset.
• Experience with English as an Additional Language learners is an asset.
• Literacy or Numeracy coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and MTSS to ensure curriculum access for all students.
• Develop and actualize Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) and positive behaviour support plans.
• Excel at implementing complex behavioural supports and data-driven planning.
• Coach and model effective practices with teams to build staff capacity.

The Opportunity

RVS invites you to apply for two full-time (1.0 FTE) Divisional Complexity teaching position(s) starting immediately. This position will be working alongside Divisional Learning Specialists.

The successful candidate must have access to reliable transportation as this position requires travel between RVS sites.

This position is not open to those holding a Continuing Teaching contract with RVS.

The Successful Candidate Must Possess The Following

• Minimum 5 years classroom teacher experience
• Specialized Expertise: At least 1 year of dedicated experience or educational background in one of the following is an asset:
• Learning Supports or Inclusive Education (e.g., LST, or specialized certification)
• Working with students who are English as an Additional Language Learners
• Literacy or Numeracy Coaching
  

The Successful Candidate Will

• have the ability to implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Tiered Interventions (MTSS) to ensure all students can access curriculum appropriate to their level
• be well-versed in student support planning in development and actualization of Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) and positive behaviour support plans
• excel in the implementation of complex behavioural supports
• demonstrate data-driven advocacy and are skilled in using progress monitoring and assessments to translate student needs into actionable classroom strategies
• work effectively with teams of teachers and support staff to coach and model effective practices that will build staff capacity to address classroom complexities
  
  

Pre-employment Requirements

• Applicants must possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate. To be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate you must have applied for initial certification with Alberta Education at .
• External applicants must provide a professional letter of reference, attached to the job application, from their most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed and dated within the past 18 months
