Job summary

Pearle Vision is seeking a Student Optician for a casual part-time role in our Ontario store. You will attract and retain customers by delivering an exceptional experience and assisting with eyewear selections under supervision.

Under guidance from an Optician, you will help with measurements, adjustments and fittings while ensuring Pearle Vision standards are met. The position includes cash handling and daily store upkeep.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Registered in a state licensure program (where applicable) or equivalent schooling.
• Previous optical and retail experience.
• Knowledge of store merchandise and eyewear products.
• Familiarity with cash registers, computers and calculators.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers without delay when they enter the store.
• Determines the reason for the customer's visit and explains how to shop at Pearle Vision.
• Provides accurate service under time pressure and customer volume.
• Educates customers on Pearle Vision products, guarantees and services including eyewear care tips and follow-up services.
• Under guidance from an Optician, takes measurements and assists with eyewear fittings.
• Operates the cashier terminal and processes transactions following security procedures.
• Maintains store displays and inventory, keeping them clean, attractive and organized.
