Specsavers is seeking a Student Optician in Barrie to assist customers with eyewear choices under supervision, ensuring comfort, fit, and vision. You’ll work with a Licensed Optician and support both retail and clinical teams to provide personalized guidance and uphold Specsavers’ renowned standards.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an Opticianry program, have at least two years of customer service experience, and can thrive in a fast-paced retail environment with flexible weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in an Opticianry post-secondary program in your province
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in retail/optical settings recommended
• Retail environment ability to stay organized under pressure

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in understanding visual needs and prescribed eyewear
• Provide guidance on frame and lens selection for comfort and style
• Perform dispensing measurements using digital tools and conduct quality checks
• Maintain knowledge of frames, lenses, treatments and current promotions
• Manage after-care and resolve complaints with good problem-solving
• Support contact lens recommendations and promotions as directed
• Handle third-party billing professionally
• Coach teammates in optical knowledge and skills
• Contribute to daily store operations and uphold brand standards
