Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant for a 50% term position, 17.5 hours per week (8:15 to 11:45). You will support students with exceptional needs under a Principal's direction, collaborating with staff on individualized programs and inclusive classroom activities.

Requirements include a college diploma in Developmental Services or related field, 1–2 years experience with school-aged children, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Developmental Services Worker or equivalent with 1–2 years of related school-based experience.
• Valid First Aid certification is an asset.
• Completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, TCI, and/or BMS training preferred.
• Include copies of diplomas/certificates applicable to EA qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students with exceptional needs within the school.
• Collaborate with teaching and other staff on programs and supports.
• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities; assist with pool and related activities.
• Modify programs as needed; assist with toileting and related duties.
