Job summary

The Ottawa Catholic School Board is seeking Casual Educational Assistants to support students with diverse needs at multiple locations. On-call positions during regular school hours require flexibility and a strong commitment to inclusive education.

Minimum qualifications include a secondary school diploma, a two-year community college diploma in a related field, and at least two years of experience supporting children with disabilities. Hourly wage starts at CAD 32.41 plus 4% vacation pay.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma required.
• Two-year college diploma in a related field (DSW/CYW/SSW or related university degree) preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience with children with physical, intellectual disabilities or learning difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Provides support in a classroom for a student with specific needs and assists with academic development.
• Responds to physical, emotional and hygienic needs of students (e.g., toileting).
• Acts as a team member to support the student and contribute to the educational program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Secondary School Diploma

2-year Community College Diploma in a related field (DSW, CYW, SSW or university degree in a child related field)

2 years of relevant experience with children with disabilities/learning difficulties
