Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant to support identified Indigenous students in our schools. This 50% term position involves assisting students with exceptional needs, including autism, in collaboration with teaching staff.

Required qualifications include a college diploma in Developmental Services Worker or Child and Youth Care/Worker, with 1–2 years of related experience. First Aid/CPR is an asset; experience with assistive technology is helpful.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Developmental Services Worker or Child and Youth Care/Worker or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related experience with school-aged children.
• First Aid/CPR is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support identified Indigenous student(s) within the school.
• Collaborate with teaching and other professionals to implement programs.
• Modify learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Handle confidential information and record/monitor student progress.
