Job summary

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is seeking a Creative, dynamic Educational Assistant to support students with special needs in a regular school setting. The 17.5-hour, 5% term role runs mornings 8:45 to 12:15, with duties including autism support, assistive tech use, and collaboration with staff.

The successful candidate will have a college diploma in Developmental Services Worker or equivalent, plus 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Required education: a community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with exceptional needs in a school setting.
• Knowledge of Ontario Curriculum and assistive tech is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities within the classroom.
• Assist with pool programs, therapeutic activities and programming adaptations.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement individual support plans.
• Assist with toileting, safety and mobility tasks as needed.
