Job summary

Extendicare (Canada) is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support meal service within a senior care home. You will help with setting up, serving, and clearing dining areas, and assist with dishwashing and cleaning tasks.

The role emphasizes safety, resident rights, and teamwork within a compassionate care environment. Ideal candidates hold a Food Handler's Certificate, have customer service experience, and can lift and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Requires current Food Handler's Certificate.
• Preference for experience in food service and with seniors.
• Excellent customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests professionally and courteously.
• Assist in setup and preparation for meal service.
• Set and clear dining tables; deliver tray service.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery after seating.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area.
• Assist with catering and special events.
• Assist in orientation and training of new dietary staff.
• Follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
• Respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities and uphold ethics.
• Attend in-service trainings and staff meetings as required.
